dtro.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ca1&action=display&thread=368 She meandered her way through the common room. To another large room that held about ten beds. She looked around noticing what looked to be closets set to one side of the room. Holding up her registration paper there was a number under the word Dorm room. That number was 9, so she took a better look at those closet doors. Sure enough there were numbers on them. Apparently one side of the room had closets numbered two-eight. Which meant her door was on the other side of the room. She caught a few odd looks from some of the students on the beds, a snicker or two. As she turned and marched to the far side where she found the doors in odd order one-nine. Hers was nine.
She took a deep breath as she placed her hand on the knob. Opening it slowly, not sure what she'd find on the other side, yet her heart seemed to freeze in her chest and a chill went down her spine as she opened the door. Taking in the sight before her.
It was a small but respectable room with two beds. One of which was currently occupied by a girl holding out her hand in an offering gesture towards a coffee pot decorated in purple Celtic knot work stickers. *Funny. She didn't remember being prone to panic attacks.* The scene before her wasn't the least bit threatening. Causing her to wounder at her own physiological response as she opened the door.
With a slight frown she looked the girl over. Then turned her attention to the coffee pot, and the smell of fresh coffee. A secondary cup had been set out for her. "Thank you, do you mind if I help myself?" She asked as she moved into the room noting the boxes on both sides. She assumed the empty bed was hers as the other girl had taken up post on the left one.
My name is Renae Thrum, do you mind if I help myself?" She asked careful to keep her tone soft and mild. As she moved to the coffee pot, taking a minute to better inspect the odd stickers that plastered it. Wondering if the girl knew or understood the Celtic knot work. An vary interesting pattern in and of itself. Something that would give her time to ponder. Alas she was getting distracted by one of the simplest and mundane things. A sticker coated coffee pot.

she jumped at the sight of her roommate who looked kinda bothered Lyiriah figured it was because of the kids laughing about how we slept in a closet. The girls spoke softly and sweetly, "My name is Renae Thrum do you mind if I help myself?" the girl pointed to the coffee " yes, you may . I have even set out a clean cup for you to use," Lyiriah said with a smile. She sat back and sipped her coffee it reminded her of home this was a similar brew to the one her mom made. when she finished she got up off her bed and pulled out a box that had moons and stars on it. she opened the box and pulled out all her blankets and put two back because it was nowhere even as cold here as it was in Ireland. She set the one with the wolf on it aside it was super soft and her favorite so she put it on top. she pulled her sheets over her bed and put on the first four blankets and trough her pillow on which was green with fairies on it. Then finally she returned to the wolf blanket which she folded up at the end of her bed. "humm, I wonder if scented candles are alright," Lyiriah asked aloud even though once again speaking to herself. She set the candle out so if it was she could light it right away the room smelt really muggy. So because she couldn't light the candle right away she opened a window. The cold air came in and chilled the room she hoped that it did not bother Renae who looked like she just shivered but Lyiriah wasn't sure. she wish she could stay and socialize a little while but she had to get her uniform yet she had no idea how or were to start. oh well she had to get it soon classes started tomorrow. she spoke up "Renae I have to get my uniform I will be back soon feel free to have as much coffee as you please," I said stepping out of the room people laughed so I laughed they seemed confused. and I made my way out of the area and found my self in a dark hallway. I wasn't sure about this what was I going to say? " I don't have my uniform cause the hallways scare me and something might try to eat me if I walk down them." no i don't think that would go over well I wondered for a while knowing that I was already lost and confused it didn't help that every hallway looked exactly the same. So she sat down in the hallway sh was kinda tired and her feet were sore. she sat there for a while and fell asleep . she had no idea how long she was asleep but when she woke up things looked slightly different. she stood up and started walking back to there closet dorm room. when i made it back i was to tired to do much else so I passed out on the bed.

After gaining the girls consent to help herself to the coffee she did just that. Picking up the cup the girl had left out for her. Renae couldn't help thinking the girl seemed a bit odd and out of place. She was friendly enough, if a bit scatter brained. She thought watching the girl shift through a ton of blankets from a box on her side of the room.
From a few minutes after the girl fiddled with the blankets she spoke asking about scented candles. “Uhm.. I don't really mind.” Renae said softly. Almost a whisper. Though the girl moved setting out a candle and moving to open a window, as if she hadn't heard Renae at all. A cold gust blew into the room but the air was fresh, and smelled of rain. Before Renae had time to form a better sentence outlining the benefits of aroma therapy, the girl was moving towards the door. Leaving Renae to watch in amazement as she informed her that she hadn't gotten her uniform yet, as she stepped through the door. Letting in a burst of sound, from the other dorm-mates laughing. Renae shook her head as heard the girl laugh in response effectively silencing the others.
Renae was left alone with a fresh pot of coffee, and her thoughts. Which revolved around the strange girl she was sharing a room with. The girl had forgotten to introduce herself and had run off before Renae had been able to drag a name from her. Now there was no telling when she could get to know the girl. After all uniforms would be issued and sent to the room. They didn't have to go get them. That alone let Renae know the girl was truly knew to the school.

Lyiriah found that it was getting hard to breath sleeping like she was, face first in her pillows. She realized it was the next morning when she got up. Her coffee was gone, all gone. She also realized that her roommate Renae looked very happy curled up sleeping. This was going to be interesting Lyiriah thought her coffee pot hissed louder then an angry rattle snake. There was one more place she could try and that was the cafeteria. Eww how she loathed cafeterias. She went to the door and walked out. There was a package there with her's and Renae's names on it and the word stamped in bold on the side said uniforms. This was strange but she opened the door and put the package on the other side of the door. The black haired skinny girl slipped away and off to the cafeteria. The large room was filled with people and the smell of breakfast favorites along with coffee she made here way to the coffee pot gently nudging people out of her way grunting, as she made a small path just big enough for her to wiggle through. It was like a war of coffee lovers.
Thanks to the cafeteria there were four coffee machines she walked over to the one missing people the coffee machine cried out with a deadly hiss . “ you poor thing do you need a little attention.” everyone stopped to stare at the fair thin brunet tempting this hissing , steaming , spiting coffee machine she gentle poured water into it and it began to hum a sweet melody like it should have she gently whipped it up and patted at its buttons carefully. The coffee poured out in a perfect stream into her cup. “ I hope that makes you feel better monster machine , I will be back tomorrow to check on you.” the girl skipped away happy as could be that she could help the neglected coffee machine.
Lyiriah headed back to the room to find her roommate Renae awake, “ Hello Renae , last time I was so brain splattered it slipped my mind to introduce myself. My name is Lyiriah,” the girl said to her roommate and paused taking a breath.
The girl felt bad looking at her empty coffee pot and her hands and finding one cup. “ Aw ,RITZ CRACKERS!” the tiny girl said and ran over to the coffee pot to make some coffee. “ Sorry, I didn't know whether you would be up so I didn't figure to get you some coffee my epic apologies.” Lyiriah said sincerely
When the coffee was done she put a cup out for Renae , “ Once again feel free to any coffee you find in this room unless of course I'm holding it”, Lyiriah said laughing a bit. Thinking if Renae had even realized there was no coffee she probably just got up she was sleeping when Lyiriah left and now she was up Lyiriah hadn't been gone long.

Renae had watched with mild interest as her roommate returned to their room, only to flop face first into her pillow, and fall unconscious. Truly remarkable really, the girls ability to completely ignore everything and pass out in record time. Causing Nae to wonder if it wasn't some kind of sleeping disorder. Even as she took care to quietly dress for bed. The girl was something quite interesting. She was sure she was going to enjoy her time watching this strange girl she now shared a room with. Nae thought even as she climbed into bed looking up at the window to check and make sure she had shut it.
Nae woke up the next morning to an empty rumpled bed across the room from her. She sat up looking around the room. Nope her roommate had managed to vanish again. She thought, looking for more signs that the girl had been there. Noticing a package set atop the main dresser they had to share. Nae was quite certain that had not been there before. She thought even as she got up, and started to make her bed. Doing so in record time thanks to the chill in the air. After which she moved to the dresser. Looking over the package which read uniforms. As well as two names. Lyiriah Spannway, and Renae Thrum. So that was the girls name. Nae thought even as the door opened causing her to turn, and look at who was entering without bothering to knock.
Lyiriah greeted her warmly. Apologizing and introducing herself. All in one breath, another point of interest. Nae thought taking in the girls appearance. She was still wearing the same clothes from the day before. Looking bed ruffled and slightly rumpled. While holding a steaming cup of coffee. The smell of which cause Nae's mouth to water. Even as the girl seemed to realize what was wrong with this picture. Causing the corner of Nae's mouth to twitch with a slight smile. As she listened to Lyiriah's concept of cursing.
Another round of apologizing ensued as she ran over to the coffee pot. Proceeding to make another pot. “That is vary considerate of you.” Nae said softly even as she moved to her bag. Allowing the girl the time needed to work on the coffee. She pulled a small pocket knife from her bag. Walking back to the package. Slicing open the packing tape careful of the contents of the box. She listened for her roommate, as she organized the uniforms. Inspecting the tags sizes and the names on them to insure, all the right pieces were separated. Till she had a pile for herself, and a pile for Lyiriah.
By the time she was done she noticed that the coffee was done and Lyiriah had set a cup out for her. As she turned to find Lyiriah in the room she heard the girl. Offer her coffee once more. Teasing about the cup she was holding being excluded from that offer. Causing Nae to tilt her head slightly while looking at Lyiriah. “I would assume, that your cup is your cup.” Nae said softly, trying to return the teasing banter. “Thank you for your offer. I promise to help pay for the coffee, as well.” Nae said softly padding across the cold floor to the coffee pot and using the same cup she had before poured herself a cup of coffee. She hadn't bothered to tell Lyiriah she had learned her name off the uniforms package. Figuring that would just make the girl feel bad.
“I separated our uniforms.” She said pointing to the two piles atop the main dresser. Even as she took moved to her bag once more bending down and pulling out a sweater. She took care to pull it on even as she held her coffee. She was waiting for it to cool before taking a sip. Moving back to her bed and taking up a seat upon it once more. “It will be a while before classes officially start again. I imagine, they will call an all school assembly. When they are ready to know when that is exactly.” Nae rambled, before blowing on her coffee and taking a tentative sip.

Lyiriah sat on her bed after making Renae a pot of coffee. Renae thanked her in a way Lyiriah wasn't accustomed to. Renae's way of thanks was formal and respectful compared to Lyiriah's, she tended to use a language similar to English but with twists of her own usually being asked to clarify. Lyiriah laughed when Renae replied to her teasing. This one thing allowed Lyiriah to relax. Feeling at home with the friendly teasing. She found Renae odd and yet intriguing she was very proper and kind. Back in Ireland everyone teased everyone because they were all family. Renae offered to help pay for the coast of coffee. “ No, no , its alright I can handle it,” Lyiriah said brightly. She quietly watched Renae open the package and separate the uniforms Lyiriah took hers and put it under her pillow it was common where she came from. Lyiriah had no idea what to do now, not even the slightest so, she decided to leave again reminding her self to knock and also to tell Renae. “ I'm going for a walk,” Lyiriah said and left finally just to get a feel for her new school that and she had nothing better to do. The halls where quite and empty she giggled remembering the school was supposedly haunted. She still walked along thinking this was high school yeah it was the tip- top of best students but that didn't mean they shouldn't have fun. This was the last few years they could be kids. She wondered where besides maybe the music room, she could listen to music. She figured out what she could do craziest idea yet, but it worked. She found an empty space deserted and she started to sing :
“ If I could walk on water, tell you whats next, make you believe, make you forget, so come on get higher, loosen my lips, faith and desire in the swing of your hips,”
She stopped when she got that the song was not the one she wanted to sing even alone people might accidentally over hear and get the completely wrong idea. She stopped singing were was she?
“Oh that’s how I got there.” she said Lyiriah made her way back to the ladies common area she knocked on the door and stepped in. Lyiriah sat down taking a breath well now she knew how to spend her time.

Lyirah assured Nae that she could handle the cost of the coffee. Leaving Nae with little to do and even less to say. As she watched the girl grab her uniform and place it under her pillow. An odd practice, but something the girl was obviously used to Nae thought even as the girl turned and informed Nae that she was going for a walk. Fair enough Nae thought watching the girl leave once again. Nae shrugged absently at the door before setting her coffee on the night stand and moving to place her uniform in one of the dresser drawers. It seemed it was going to take some time for her to figure out her new roommate she thought. Moving once again to her bed and cup of coffee. There were things she needed to put in order and a trip to the science wing was certainly in order she thought. Even as she set about, preparing herself for just such a trip.
After all her roommate wasn't the only one able to wander the school. She thought as she dressed for the walk to the science wing. A little thrill of excitement shooting up her spine as she thought about it. Once she was dressed and had slipped on her black slippers she moved to the coffee pot to fill her cup once more. Careful to shut it off once she was done. She wasn't sure when either of them would be back or if it had an automatic shut off or not. Seeing as it was well decorated, some of the info printed on it wasn't easily readable. She thought shaking her head.
Fresh cup in hand. She left the dorm room as well. dtro.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sw&thread=371
She really had no idea how long she had been gone. Though she wasn't surprised as she knocked on the room door. To get a response.

The door echoed with a knock Lyiriah jumped and got up to open the door. She was met by Renae. “Hello”,Lyiriah said stepping back to allow her roommate entrance to there room. She paused to look the girl over for any hint where her roommate might have been. She was wearing black slippers. Well as interesting as that was it wasn't anything abnormal. Wait a minute was she just looking at Lyiriah's hair and Lyiriah thought, was that a look of interest?
Lyiriah stopped staring remembering how rude it was to stare, but she was so curious. They had spent little to no time near each other recently Lyiriah was to interested by the school and the idea of what this might be like for her. This was her roommate! She was supposed to get to know her. So far at least they had one common interest coffee. Lyiriah thinking about her previous thought clued in that this would be a great time for coffee being they had both finished there coffee while having abandoned the room. “ I'm going to make another pot of coffee.” Lyiriah said
Lyiriah stared the coffee pot it started with some puttering that turned into a elongated hiss. Then a knock brought her attention to the door. “Hello?” Lyiriah said a young tall girl opened the door popping her head in “Lyiriah Spannway?” the girl asked “ Yes what is it?” Lyiriah said standing up “ The phone for you.” the girl said looking nervous and curious “oh okay thank you.” Lyiriah said and went out behind the girl heading to the phone she picked it up “Hello?” Lyiriah said shakily “Lyiriah its Jean,” Jean was her childhood friend he lived just down the road from her. “ What is it?” Lyiriah asked now really scared “ Lyiriah its... its your dad he....he just had a heart attach.” Jean said sniffling and pausing Lyiriah froze and listened for a moment realizing he wasn't going say anymore. “ Jean is he still.....” Lyiriah asking about the worst “He's on life support for now Lyiriah there just keeping him alive,” Jean said “ Jean...” “ We wanted to give you the chance to say goodbye hun I'm so sorry.” she heard him move the phone “Daddy I Love you so much I hope you find peace good bye Daddy.” Lyiriah said tears broke her face “Pull it Jean.” Lyiriah said between sniffles and hung up Lyiriah stood there sobbing staring at the phone like everything didn't just happen. She headed into the bathroom to wash the pain off her face it didn't work she thought as she looked in the mirror. Lyiriah stumbled out of the bathroom heading back to her room were Nae was. Lyiriah not even thinking about Renae's thoughts hugged her tightly. Lyiriah clung. She broke down sniffling and sobbing.

She wasn't surprised to find her roommate had returned. What did surprise her though was the fact that her roommate had opened the door for her rather then just yelling a welcoming response. Nae couldn't help but look at the girls hair. It had natural ringlets. She was a brunet, but Nae could see gold and red highlights in the girls hair. She had to remind herself it was just a matter of time. Living in such close quarters she was bound to come across all the samples she would ever need or want. She thought listening even as the girl mentioned coffee. Nae liked coffee well enough. She just wasn't sure that she needed another cup. She was saved from having to respond as there was another knock on their door.
A girl peeked her head in without waiting for a response. Rude! Still, there might have been a good reason. She assured herself even as the girl informed Lyiriah, she had a phone call. Nae puttered with her bed covers. Straightening them. Then turned her attention to the window as she waited. Lyiriah, was quick to respond. Her attitude was warm, bubbly even. Nae thought as she pondered the girl she was now sharing a room with. Honestly, she knew nothing about her roommate Which really wasn't surprising when one considered how energetic the girl seemed to be. Which also caused her to wonder if that had something to do with her genetic make up.
None of which she could determine with a DNA test. The best she could manage with that would be determining. Her racial standing, and maybe her heritage. Depending on how many ways she tested. She was wrapped up in her own thoughts even as she heard the door open. She turned to find Lyiriah, charging towards her, arms wide. Renae didn't have time to think even as she stepped back and braced herself for impact.
It only took a few seconds and Lyiriah was quite literlaly attached to her. Clinging and sobbing. Leaving Nae in quite the quandary. What good was she with a sobbing girl? What could have caused such a drastic, and highly emotional change in the girl she called a roommate? So many questions! She was sure they were not warranted or needed at the moment. She stood stock still, trying to decide what to do. What would be a good and acceptable response. She wondered even as she slowly brought her arms up to hold the girls quivering shoulders. She could remember crying like that numerous times. Though, never had she had anyone one there, to hold her so.... That seemed to be the best idea. She thought silently standing there just holding the girl. Letting her cry, she didn't have any clue as to how to help, or even what was wrong to begin with.
She sighed even as she admitted to herself that people and their personal emotional issues were complicated, unstable, and outsides of her ability to test, question, and theorize. Emotional and behavioral habits were a completely different school of thought from the one she was used to. She stood there holding the girl. Determined to do just that for as long as necessary. Let the girl cry. It was pretty obvious she needed it. From the sobs racking her body, she wasn't likely to stop soon. Nae realized. Starting to analyze the one solid thing she could in the whole situation. The bodies physical response to such gut wrenching sobs Plain and simply exhaustion! That she had experience with!
Crying ones self into a state of oblivion. Sleep seemed to be a balm, that helped one get past the emotional hurdles. She thought, even as she tried to steer Lyiriah towards her bed. “We should probably sit down before your legs and mine give out.” She said softly, even as she managed to get them close enough so that she could help the girl sit on her bed.

((Traveling))
Lyiriah let it out as poor Renae probably lost on what to do Led her to sit on her bed she had said something but everything sounded hollow and empty. She didn't know what to say or what to do at a moment like this. Though Renae holding her made her feel better some how it felt right. It felt like hours siting there on the bed probably was before Lyiriah stopped sobbing and crying leaving a wet mess on Nae. She would later buy a shirt to repay Nae for letting her cry on her like this. Lyiriah had no Idea how it happened or when but she had fallen asleep she was now awake. It was day she took a big breath and exhaled putting on her daily smile, starting the coffee. She left the room heading to the bathroom a shower was in order for her. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She relaxed as the water lifted her spirits. When she was finished and dressed she headed to the cafeteria to grab some sandwiches. She had no idea how Nae felt about sandwiches but she figured she would be hungry. When she got back to the room there was still a lump on the bed she was more then likely as exhausted as Lyiriah had been. Lyiriah had to hold it together though otherwise she effected others well she still did but it was for the better so if a forced smile was needed to make others smile then she was going to smile. She set a sandwich on the night stand next to Renae's bed along with a fresh cup of water and coffee. Lyiriah wondered if maybe she could find that boy from the hallway again with the bloody nose she wasn't sure but it could be something to do for a while and then the morning set in , it was like she was fighting herself now to be happy. She had decided on a black dress for that day because she would never make it home for the funeral. So her final decision of what to do may have been odd but she pulled out her laptop which matched her purple decorated coffee pot. She pulled up a shopping site for clothes, going to the shirt section.
Lyiriah set the Laptop to the side remembering her sandwich. (Nom,Nom,Nom <3) Lyiriah enjoyed her sandwich and followed it down with her coffee which was raspberry and mocha today she only had one bag it was special. She used her to-go cup for today. Lyiriah was still curious about the library. Lyiriah feeling like she should let someone know were she was going wrote a note telling Nae she had left the laptop out for her to find a new shirt and to pick anyone she liked and that if she wanted to find her she would be in the library and also wrote an apology for last night. She put the note under the coffee she had put on Nae's night stand. She headed out. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WANDERING HALLS: Lyiriah on her way to the library heard a noise she knew all to well soft flute music and violins it sounded like a redone version of cry of the Celts. She ended up dancing in the hallway to it barefoot even she tend to wander the school barefoot. The music swayed her body moving to the music. It was like she was home for a half hour. She didn't care if people saw her she was lost in the music now. Her black dress twirling with her. She stopped curiosity perked. THE BAND ROOM the door said in bold well that was strange and why would a school band play such a song? She thought she poked her head in to see to guys playing. Two? She thought. She avoided getting noticed but she really wondered did they truly know the song or its back round? Did one of them share her background she was full Irish so probably not. Lyiriah shut the door gently she did not want to draw any attention to herself mostly because peoples attention led to questions and she was not in the best mood for answering questions. She wish she was because she had questions herself.
LIBRARY:
When Lyiriah got to the library it smelt of old books and citrus cleaners. She could still hear the music from the band room playing like a broken record in her head. The books here were great the historical books were now on her list to read she had read a good portion of the paranormal ones during her last visit and she didn't want to read them all and leave none for later so she moved to history. The books told her of times before her own that resided in the places she had. She stopped reading realizing the room was full of doors that seemed old and heavy. The room became cold and she felt unwelcome. “ Okay I'll leave,” she said to the chilled room ,putting the books back.

The girl cried on her shoulder for what seemed like hours. Though she finally fell asleep, allowing Nae to move slightly. Challenging as it was because she was stiff, and sore from holding the girl for so long. She managed well enough, seeing as not much she did was likely to wake Lyiriah from her exhausted slumber. She couldn't imagine what could have caused the drastic change in Lyiriah. Though she was willing to wager that it was related to the phone call. Something she would never get. Which from the current view that was probably a good idea. As bad news tended to come from such sources. Then again news in general wasn't the most positive forms of information. She thought even as she got ready for bed. Thankful, of the small group of books she had managed to collect. She dressed and picked an interesting tittle. Climbing into bed, book in hand. She laid there for a minute looking around the room making sure everything was in its proper place and taken care of. The main lights were out. She had a pair of reading glasses handy, her nightstand light was on. She had a glass of water handy. Her clothes were folded and set on the shared dresser. She allowed her mind to wander to the topic at hand, as her eyes focused on the words before her. It was a vary interesting book called Sexy Orchids Make Lousy Lovers. Outlining unusual relationships found in nature.
Though soon she started to doze, so she stuck her book marker on the page, explaining the enter action of oxpeckers, and their chosen counter parts. Setting it on the nightstand, and turning out the light. She drifted off to sleep. Time wasn't relevant, as she slept. Her mind weaving patterns between odd relationships and her room companion as she dreamed. A sound stirred her from sleep causing her to shift position as she identified the sound as the room door. She pulled the bed covers over her head and allowed her mind to drift once more.
More noise as she placed her roommate moving about the room. She shifted again snuggling deeper into the bed. Trying to ignore the sounds of someone moving about the room. Trying to be quite but failing in the silence that was sleep. She thought sighing as she allowed the odd patterns to fill her mind with random images once more.
Tired of fighting the light peeking through the window and the random noises she could hear, that disturbed the patterns of her mind she through back the bed covers. “Really!” She whispered frustrated at the world for not accepting that she had stayed up way to late reading. With a sigh she admitted to herself that it really was her own fault. She took a moment sitting up and looking around the room. Lyiriah was no where to be seen but there were traces of her. On the nightstand next to her book were coffee and a note. Then on Lyiriahs bed sat a laptop. Open to a shop, that the note explained was for Nae to pick out a new shirt. Nice, enough. Though she really didn't need one. Why, when what she had was serviceable. She thought even as she picked up the cup of coffee still warm. Though it had cooled. Giving her an idea of how long Lyiriah had been gone. She wasn't inclined to get up out of bed, though nature tended to have other thoughts. She sighed as she set the cup on the dresser grabbing her robe from a wall hanger. She wrapped it around her, coffee in hand and headed for the shared restroom. Taking care of natural needs as well, as some more prideful ones. She returned to the room.
